What Causes Homelessness?

It is a sad fact of modern life that many thousands of people in the UK are still homeless. Homelessness is a huge problem and those who are left homeless are often looked down on or considered to be failures, when, in fact, they should be looked upon with compassion and taken care of. There are lots of reasons why homelessness occurs and it usually isn’t down to fecklessness on the part of the homeless but rather, circumstances which are out of their control.

Common Causes Of Homelessness

The issue of homelessness is a complex one and there are many reasons why someone may find themselves homeless but, a few of the common ones can be found below:

Debt

One big reason for homelessness is the inability to cover mortgage or rent payments. This can eventually lead to whole families having their home taken away and having to deal with homelessness.

Mental Health

Those with serious mental health issues are amongst those who are most at risk of becoming homeless and often receive little or no support from the community or healthcare professionals.

Institutional Backgrounds

A large percentage of homelessness is made up of people who have spent time in an institutional environment. This could be anything from prison to children’s homes or even the armed forces. People with such backgrounds often find it difficult to adjust to normal life and end up on the streets.

Easy to Use Online Ovulation Calendar

Using an ovulation calendar proved to be really useful and I am so pleased I found one.  It really helped me to learn my dates and see when I was likely to get pregnant.  I never really knew my most fertile days before so it was really interesting to use too.  The best news was that unlike some ovulation kits I had looked at in the chops, the calendar was free to use and I could use it as much as I wanted.

Record the Dates of Your Next Period

I found the ovulation calendar online and quickly began to play with it. I entered the date of the first day of my last period, but I had to guess as I couldn’t remember. I then was shown the dates in the month when I was most likely to be fertile. The next month I made a note of when I started my period and immediately hopped back online and entered the information to see which days in the month ahead were my fertile days.

Work Around Your Fertile Days

The other thing which I loved about the ovulation calendar (other than it helping me to get pregnant that is) was being able to see months in advance. I actually planned a romantic break away to fall on my fertile days, and that is the week that I ended up conceiving!

How To Help End Homelessness

The quest to end homelessness can seem a long and difficult journey. It is estimated than in London alone, well over 2,000 people sleep rough and many of these people will be spending their first night out in cold, dark, dangerous, and unhealthy conditions. The plight to end homelessness shouldn’t be geared solely towards helping those that are already on the streets but the prevention of anybody from having to spend a single night sleeping rough.

Prevention is better than cure and this is as true of homelessness as it is of anything else. There are, unfortunately, many different causes of homelessness though and this makes it difficult to identify every possible case of a person being at risk of sleeping rough. Alcohol and substance abuse may be spotted but a breakdown in family relationships can be more difficult to identify before it happens, for example.

Many people from different walks of life, different areas, and in different demographic groups are forced on to the street every single night. To end homelessness, these people need help rehabilitating back into society. They need to receive help in fixing the problems that led to their homelessness and they require assistance in getting back on their feet and into regular accommodation.
